Indeed a small bug. Thanks for the info, fixed for next release! -Zenju

Whitespace needs to be in quotes like: "C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync.exe" "C:\Sync Job.ffs_batch"

Thanks! I'm not sure why Windows Search couldn't find it by name but sure enough it's there.

> Obviously this gives some issues when syncing I'd see to file some bug report concerning this. I wouldn't be surprised to see other applications have issues when they expect file…

Hi, I had the same problem with FreeFileSync_v3.11, but with mounted Truecrypt Volumes. Inst. of FreeFileSync_v3.12_beta2 has fixed it. :) Just wanted to say. Siutsch.

I had the same problem.... Could you please update the make file, so people newbie like me would not have the same problems.

Understood.

Zenju, I feel like a donkey. Indeed one of the folder had an extra space in the name and I did not see it. I've been trying for weeks to figure this out. Thanks for your help. This…

> But no-one has done anything with the files This is strange. FFS doesn't touch file neither. When files are overwritten, the db file is updated accordingly. What does this confli…

Ah! Silly me. I was doing lexicographic ordering in my mind when I read it (as a directory listing sorted by name would do). It might make thing easier to call it 3.04, etc. Then t…

Just pass a *.ffs_real configuration file as second parameter. This will prevent showing the RTS start dialog and begin work immediately.

Thanks for the quick reply and info. Yes, working fine now, needed a full round of synching. A very nice piece of software.

Actually I haven't tried this myself, but as this is not related to FFS, but about starting any program at Ubuntu start, Google should have an answer.

In summary the new DST handling works as follows (hopefully explaining the observed behavior): When traversing FAT/FAT32 files with FFS the first time, additional metadata is saved…

I'm not sure how to "count" the number of logfiles. Probably traverse the log- dir and count all files that match a reg-ex-like pattern. Then sort it by date and delete the oldest …

This definitely solved my issue. I unchecked both global settings "Copy locked files" and "Copy filesystem permissions" and now everything is working as expected. Maybe the fact th…

The precompiled FFS version is based on "libgtkmm-2.4-dev". You could try " libgtkmm-2.4-1" to make it run. Alternatively there is also a .deb package available: [URL]

I will give that a ry and report my results

ok, I see, thank you for the answer. Well, I'm still interested in having the size, so I'll impatiently wait for next version to see if it will be included :-)

Thx much!

Yes, it will be fixed with v3.10

OK. I can understand the logic. Thanks for your quick response and a for a GREAT product.

I have statically linked this new library to the binaries and uploaded the tar.gz again. Sorry for the inconvenience. -Zenju

SFTP is not supported directly. FFS accesses files via ordinary fopen/fclose-calls. Therefore you'll need a wrapper that redirects SFTP to a regular directory structure. -Zenju

Zenju, Thank you I will try first option as it is the preferred workaround method for me now. Regards

OK, I see... I understand your reasoning. I realize I have been more focused on mirroring/backup. I rarely or ever use syncing. Along the years I almost always used these kind of t…

Excellent! Thank you!

RealtimeSync does not have options to exclude specific directories. The best solution is to emulate exclusion by "not including", i.e. specify a list of directories for monitoring.…

What is the problem with Samba? I haven't explicitly tested with SAMBA, but just did a sync against a Windows share using Virtual Box specific means which worked fine. So I wouldn'…

Interesting, could you post the full error message? I need to find out at which step during copying it throws this error. Usually "access denied" is related to file attributes or t…

I understand. Nevertheless if you have something I can work with at some point, don't hesitate to inform me. Best regards

Perfect: "RTS minimizes automatically when it is passed a script as argument" -- that will work for us, we'll update the script, test, and let you know if all is well (and I expect…

just to close out the thread, we are using a wrapper script and a flag file to catch the return; if FreeFileSync exits AND we see our custom flag file on the server, we made it thr…

Filtering options are bound to a GUI config file (*.ffs_gui). Is this what you are talking about?

Binary update isn't really a very common sync-scenario, but I think you're right to expect "copy to right" instead of "do nothing" as action for category "different". There is of c…

Thanks, after clicking the option I see where to enter the filename. Blame me... Klaus

Just tested on Windows 7 x64 and XP x86, couldn't find any problems sync'ing a file named "filename.$$$". The name in general shouldn't have any impact on FFS's functionality as it…

Please wait on this. I found a space in one of my attempts. Maybe it will work now.

Thats good to hear!

That seems to have done the trick!! Thanks so much Zenju :)

Fixed for v3.8! You may now watch videos undisturbed. ;)

Ok, sarcasm duly noted (grin)...I'll have a read over the changelog! Totally understand about the xml, our situation is easily remedied by simply migrating entirely to 3.7, which w…

Press view filter button "=" to also show files that are "equal" on both sides.

The data is directly binary-compared without calculating a hash value or a checksum in between.
