From the symptoms you describe this seems to be a WLAN rather than a FFS problem. You can try to reset your WLAN and all attached devices, not only reset, but physically pull the p…

It's difficult to deduce the source of this issue with only a generic error description. The best you can do is do a couple of tests, changing some of the "variables", e.g. the too…

Thanks. And this is in the help text for the filter dialog, sorry for asking a RTFM question. With some experimenting, I figured out that the filter strings are (apparently) applie…

No, the only existing conversion is via GUI. I figure the main nuisance is batch dialog automatically closing after saving config. Maybe unding this "optimization" solves the probl…

The behavior is hard-coded. In general it seems simply overwriting is safe to do, although I agree, it leaves a certain "uncanny" feeling. See the discussion here: [URL]

Look at the help. You can run it as a service

Thanks Zenju! I think that I had a file open while I did my sync, and this is what caused the problem.

Version 4.6 appears to have fixed this problem. Freefilesync is working again. Thanks for your support and also a big thanks for a program that is excellent!

thx!

If you disable Menu->GlobalSettings: "transactional file copy" this should do the trick. FFS will not write a temporary file first, but directly overwrite the target files.

Thank you for the feedback! The problem is due to a buggy file system implementation that comes up when trying to detect moved files. The new version of FFS implements a workaround…

Just like any other program, via command line it's: sudo ./FreeFileSync

The recent versions of FreeFileSync require GCC 4.6.1 which is shipped with Ubuntu 11.10.

Just update to v4.5.

The database updates are a bit of a frustration for me too. I have many syncs set up, to multiple external drives, and to a freenas server from multiple computers. Its very time co…

I've done a detailed analysis of peak memory consumption and added the result to the old tracker, to keep the topic at one place: [404, Invalid URL: https://sourceforge.net/tracker…

Sorry, I overlooked Zenju's reply! It is working fine now using updated dll files. Thank you very much! Nob

:( no option to edit the defaults

The size of the "user-defined" deletion directory is unlimited. For a more user-configurable recycle option, the regular Windows recycler will do.

Please note the hints in the helpfile on RealtimeSync. They should answer all important questions. Press F1, either in RealtimeSync or FreeFileSync.

Perfect! Now I hope they'll fix the newly introduced graphics glitches in wxWidgets 2.9 before they make the stable release and everybody will be happy.

No drive is being mapped. This is just for the credentials to the resource. If there is no current connection to the server/share, ffs will not be able to access it, like any other…

Thank you AWJENKS, unlike Zenju response, yours was accurate and concise. Thanks again
