You can set that manually. It wouldn't be appropriate for FFS to set it as a system file, because it isn't one

FreeFileSync automatically deletes empty versioning folders. Perhaps in your case, the folders are not actually empty and contain hidden files?

I believe the warnings (if read) would have told OP exactly what's going wrong, and as an added bonus even told which exclude filter to set to avoid the recursive versioning issue.

The file is a backup that goes to Google Drive and I download it to the computer through freefile. Once it's downloaded I can unzip the rar without a problem.
