Here is the solution: 1.- Select the file (<filename>.ffs_tmp). 2.- Right click and select PROPERTIES. 3.- On PROPERTIES window click on SECURITY tap. 4.- Group or user...: EVERYON…

FFS connected to my Google Drive first time I tried. I did not select the "Directory on server" at that time. I tried to do that today but FFS would just hang while "Loading" (fold…

but FFS is software for sync and this function is needed, on other software developers dont need to change filename because that software is planed to run only on linux. Butt since…

Seems that the 21H1 Update solved the problem through a Mandantory Reboot last night. Just checked and it went right to the folder/drive I was last working from and it did not jump…

Preserving existing file permissions is something FFS currently doesn't handle: [URL]

Hi Zenju, No there was no error. However, I reinitiate all tasks and don't know why, all is working fine by now. I should have done something wrong for sure but don't know where. T…

It's insane that this is how it has to be done. I'd expected a simple option to enable or disable the notification sound despite the auto-close being set. However, for those that s…

Nice! Glad you got it sorted

Repeatable? Was this after a firmware update or some other change?

Wnat a numpty i am, completely missed the large green + button that allows extra sync pairs to be added!!! My problems are over will do all i need.

Those links contain literal step-by-step instructions...

Use the Mirror sync variant, not the Update sync variant (in the Sync Settings , F8).

You know I gotta say . . . I think changing that auto-close did it. It's been running every 30 mins for a few hours and there's no piling up of instances in Task Manager. I believe…

Hi, macOS Monterey 12.0.1 FreeFileSync 11.14 [donation] overall, things usually work great. In this situation I am scanning a 4TB hard drive (external) that was used as a timemachi…

I changed <ProgressDialog Minimized="false" AutoClose="true"/>

That is working exactly as it should. You could have a directory \config\df\07\khjfkwekfjbn\dfwf\*.dfd and it would still be included. You may need to add exclusions

What is E:\?

Releasing an FFS installation license is not instantaneous. It takes up to 48 hours to release a license.

[Quote] That seems quite likely. The old drive had lots of radio software on it - much of that old software seems a little cobbled together, or at least it did when I dabbled with …

> ... replace : with- No, that is not an option. See [URL]. Although that reply is about leading spaces, it applies equally well to substituting any other character in any arbitrar…

Yes and I re-loacted it but its same, FFS can not find my folder...

that fix the problem just adding without * at end

It appears that Warning about Operator/Administrator I mentioned above is not bogus. Something is stopping it from running auto. Manual, fine, auto, no?

The compare worked. I did as you suggested: File|new rather than just changing at the browse button. Since the FFS worked when first installed and then stopped with out any changes…

> But again, this only happens when mirror function is used and not update. That makes perfect sense. A Mirror sync will remove any content from the destination that is not present…

Well access to the RTS executable has nothing to do with access to a path

Perfect, thankyou xCSxXenon

Was does this result mean in task scheduler? It seems to make the necessary changes in the destination folder if there are changes to the source folder? But what is this result? Is…

Thanks for the info on exFAT, that saves me time. I'd seen the timezone offset option discussed in this thread, but didn't like it because I thought I risked missing changes made w…

Don't backup the WindowsApps folders, they can't be used after a restore anyway. That folder is extremely restricted from Microsoft.

Looks like my recovery is not over. I'm slowly making progress, but users might want to know that once you get behind the 8 ball, things are difficult. My donation expires in April…

Hi, I just signed up to make this post here: [URL] Hope this is helpful to those who have followed this topic!

FFS formats/cleans up paths as input by the user. In case there was something to clean up it shows the formatted path in the header. In your case there is a stray slash:[Attachment…

[URL] Yeah, your 100 mbps connection won't benefit from multiple threads

In the FFS GUI, via Tools / Options you can disable the Fail-safe File Copy option. This will prevent FFS from making a spare copy of any "old" file until it is sure (as sure as po…

[Quote] By that do you mean the "Size on disk:" shows as the full file size (rather then some portion thereof)? On my end, I created a sparce. Sync'd to another directory with FFS …

The main window doesn't support this, but in the bottom left, there is an overview with them collapsed. Much much more discussion here: [URL]

Yeah, that error message is referring to a single file. I wonder is Zenju could add that to a default filter because it is the same string for everyone, it seems.

I'm sorry for being late in responding to this. I finally figured it out. Thank you for the help.

[Quote] This doesn't seem related. I don't have an issue with synchronization stopping completely. I did some further testing and synchronization between external hard drives is fi…

It is normal, you cannot drag and drop between programs started normally and as administrator. Two solutions: a) start FFS as administrator then use the browse button to select the…

Simply replace the "*" in the Include Filter by the relative path to the folder you want to Include. Alternatively, run a Compare in the FFS GUI, select the folder you want to incl…

Well if the letter selected for the source doesn't exist, it wouldn't find anything to sync. Trying clicking "new" in FFS and re-create the sync setup
