FreeFileSync Forum

Thank you very much for the new linux installer and the console command feature for FFS. But we also need a console command for realtimesync. Please! Thanks in advance.

Set up a sync that only works with that folder, and use task scheduler to sync it on a periodic scheduler instead of being monitored. [URL]

Works with one phone, not the other, so start with the phone itself. Make sure it is set to MTP, but other than that, it may be another victim of unreliable MTP/cable/etc

Heh. I was just reviewing this, & not quite sure where my head was. In the above, any reference to BRU (quite a different utility) should be replace by "FFS". %s/BRU/FFS/g ;-).

I actually answered my own question. There must be some permission issue on the netapp side. My account is granted via an AD group. I granted my user account direct FULL CONTROL on…

The FFS Copy-to function in the GUI is only available in GUI, not in a batch file. This makes sense, as the Copy-to action only applies to items you have selected prior to the Copy…

You don't create RTS batch files, they don't exist. You don't add files to anything related to RTS, only folders. I guarantee that you created a FFS batch job and are autostarting …

I had the exact same problem. Thanks!

I updated the globalsettings.xml file which resolved a previous error I was getting, but now I'm seeing this [DirReaderPlus] error message. Again i've explored the options above an…

Many thanks for your quick answer, xCSsXenon.

Just remove it and go to the link I posted above

Thanks to both, that should be enough. Cheers

Those files may have been moved since that first sync? Or since you are doing content compare, if any details/metadata/tags got changed, then that's a difference to be detected. Ha…

Thx, I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I am using an old version of Xubuntu on a old laptop with no PAE support and unfortunately I cannot upgrade to a newer version for t…

Do you have a saved configuration? You should if you don't, because you can save it as an update sync. FFS doesn't change the sync method on its own. Two-Way is set to overwrite ol…

Hi there, (it's a long one thanks for looking at my problem hope someone can help). After the rocky road to install everything worked fine for a couple of days. But after a few sys…

That works for me! Thank you very much! I'll get another donation edition again soon, or, if I need to reinstall, can use the free edition. (sorry for the delay in getting back; Re…

Thanks for the quick reply. I am using a shared drive too. It did not solve my problem, though. It is still missing files. As a test I downloaded some to my destination folder and …

[Quote] This setting is definitely being reset against the user's wishes, this behavior has been occurring for many years, and yet this thread has no responses that suggest that th…

When an FTP server does not report "UTF" in its FEAT response, FFS assumes ANSI encoding, that's the problem. So what is this FTP server's repsonse for FEAT? You can check by issue…

I've been attempting to run a sync between a Windows 2008 Server FTP server and a local environment. While most folders sync successfully, I'm getting a timeout error stating that …

Still not work. The problem is when FreeFileSync GUI is open at the same time as a scheduled task is running in background. This causes the issue and this task last sync info will …

Could you explain that further? I can find Control | System and Security, but I'm not sure about "drive select"? Are you speaking of [URL] (SystemPropertiesProtection.exe)? (I don'…

Ok, I ran some tests to see how it worked exactly. I made a RTS task to mirror a folder on an internal drive on my main PC to an external drive (mapped to main PC) on the Plex serv…

[Quote] Thank's Xenon. Is working like a charm :)

Thank you. My bad. Long ago I had excluded these particular folders because they were no longer being updated on the source disk. I must have read right by the exclusion list when …

I installed the most recent version of FFS so maybe the fix wasn't applied after all?

Well I definitely do not have the donation version. I shall have to contact the developer. Thank you for your assistance.

Choose "Save as" and overwrite the batch file

Thank you all for the suggestions but my sense is the Mac version of FFS is not fully baked.. So, I ended up leaving FFS and now use Cloud Berry Backup - runs fast, works perfectly…

(You could set up folder pairs. But with 500 of them, I doubt the program would take that many? Not to mention I doubt you'd want to actually do the setting up ;-).)

yes, that helped this time, many thanks.

Realizing this is a zombie thread, but since I was just searching up the same thing... You can hit the little arrow button immediately to the right of the "Compare" button atop you…

Thanks a lot, that worked great for me too !

To add, that conflict usually only happens if the file has changed in both the destination and source since the last time you ran the sync

Never mind - I found the email. Thanks for responding.

Thank you! That fixed it!

See, trailing slash (/), [URL]

Thanks for responding, I figured it out last night. I needed to install an additional windows networking feature. I can't remember exactly what it was called but everything is work…

I use a couple pairs/combinations of mirrors with multiple filters to deal with people added videos to a shared photo folder, but they are all using mirror

i just tried an install of the package you mentioned and it was already installed: check out my terminal output bellow.. i'm planning to do a fresh install and will test out to onl…

Solved my own problem. I did not realize that comparing contents will also compare timestamps and touch those accordingly rather than do a full move/copy.

So I'm using FFS with RealTimeSync to mirror my main drive to a second internal one. And it works great, I also mirror some data to my Dropbox folder but (many times a day) I get e…

I found something. On the one "configuration" that leaves empty folders the to and from are: "D:\Musikk\" and "F:\Music\". On the ones that have no trouble (tested one now and veri…

(Heh. Didn't even know it did license checks.) (On Windows) maybe something like [URL] (which might point out an IP) would be sufficient?

Thanks Zenju - this was the problem: "If you have mapped a network share to a local drive letter, and have set up Windows Task Scheduler to use a different user account, FreeFileSy…

You probably don't. You may have 5 versions of fileabc.txt that are from a month ago, but since there are only 5 versions, it hasn't hit the max yet. I'm not sure if FFS removes em…

[Quote] Thanks for letting me know. I'll have FFS ignore EIO in this case because F_PREALLOCATE is only "nice to have".

What if you create a batch script that runs the command you just manually ran in cmd, then have task scheduler run that batch script instead of the command itself?

By selecting a configuration and then right-clicking, you get some options. The sequence in which configurations are sorted can be changed by clicking in one of the header fields
