Likely, the problem is related to the recent changeover from daylight saving time to standard time. See [URL].

I am using version 11.2. This is an odd system, so it is probably not supported with Free File Sync.

The NAS setting you show only illustrates that also non-admin NAS users (with access to the Hoofdmap-share) are able to see the Recycle-bin of Hoofdmap. The link I provided earlier…

You don't access files when choosing your left/right locations. You have to choose the folders that you want to sync. For you, you will have to choose the folder where your .ost is…

Well, reinstalling Windows that often is not normal... You could always keep a portable copy on a USB drive as they don't count as installs when running from removable media. You m…

I have manually installed the program (donation version) on Linux Mint 20. Just realized it is also in the Software Manager. I installed the program from Software Manager. How do I…

Hostname definitely still works, you just need to know it. Windows network is a little hot-or-miss, but still works sometimes. The NAS management will tell you the hostname

Can you install an older version and try again? This way we can see if it is an FFS update that caused it. [URL]

Is Z: a local drive, or a mapped drive on another system?

[Quote] Good idea! Changed for the next version.

You should be able to go to the link from the email 'receipt' and download it again fine, unless the donation period has expired.

Thanks very much for your advice, which obviously works Roy

[Quote] This can't be true. Do you have more details?

See [URL] for exit codes. The log-file should provide details on warnings and errors.

Thanks, That worked.

[Quote] I disabled Intel RST. Here is the output of smartctl which shows that SMART is disabled. I wonder if i should enable it. The drive is genuine, though [Code]

Although this error may occur while running FreeFileSync (FFS), it is not FFS related. See [URL].

Great suggestion to use a mirror initially, I will do that. Regarding why to 2-way sync with the backup server, the backup is also the failover server (using DFS) - if the primary …

Great! Thank you all!

I am a use of your app in Malaysia. Previously I donated to get donation edition. But now when I try to donate Paypal says "Donations to this recipient aren't supported in this cou…

[Quote] Thanks for the analysis. It really clarified how to approach the issue, and sincere apologies for not replying earlier.

If you start FFS via the Terminal, maybe this will return more useful information: [Code]

This should be fixed in the next FFS release (in about a week). I assume you have a WLAN network adapter that is sometimes offline. And when it is, it reports a random MAC address,…

You could run RevoUninstaller to completely wipe the free version from existence and try to install the donation version again

No? Change it to only include what is included in the real sync. If the goal is to delete the source files from the sync, then set the include/exclude filters the same for both the…

(Not seeing any such problem with a file named, "DSC_1399êdit.tif", on Windows [XP] & FFS 10.11, sync'd to a Synology NAS.) If you were to test with an older version of FFS, does t…

I'm thinking the ZIP "broke" the file names as what is inside, best I can tell are simply "plain" characters with the only "odd" thing being the ^ character (sequence). I was expec…

Hi, I see this article: [URL] But it's really only running as a Scheduled Task, and NOT as a Windows Service. Is there a way to run this as a real Service?

mmmm... IMHO this is a OneDrive/Windows issue. On an other hand, when I try to do a direct Windows explore copy (of a previously blocked file within the FreeFileSync process) an al…

It was in there - turns out it was corrupt. It's on a disk that shares files with both Mint and Win7 - I had to go to Win7 and run Chkdsk to get it deleted. All seems fine now - no…

FFS will copy files as sparse if the target file system supports it. I suggest setting up a test case copying only a single sparse file and see if that works. If it doesn't, next s…

Hello, I suppose you were replying to Brodi. I have been trying to fix this for almost 2 weeks now. I can execute the batch file from file explorer OR from the green Sync icon's GU…

An easy way to do this is run the compare, then right-click the folder/files, then click exclude from the context menu

Never mind. Apparently you have to close the program, restart it and run the compare and sync again. As I had run the compare and sync many times without removing the errors or war…

I think I found the issue. I need to wait until MTPDrive has retrieved the list of all photos in the device before I use FFSync to copy them.

Multiple locations/computers syncing the same locations

Depends how you set it up originally. Check your startup locations

Thank you for the reply. I ended up using powershell to change the modification date. I'm no powershell expert, but I was able to muddle my way through. I'm not sure how the modifi…

Generally, old FFS database files that are not too old (= "a few years") are migrated automatically. But for updating an ancient FFS version the approach looks like: - Sync all fol…

Delete that empty file. That is usually located on a Windows drive, not sure why it popped up on S:\

It wasn't in Task Manager. I finally found it, but I can't remember where. :-) :-) :-) If I figure it out, I'll post it. Thanks.

As for your "fix", you can sort/filter by creation time and the duplicates should be there. Also, on Windows, duplicates will show up as "xxxxxx (1)", in which case you can use cmd…

On CentOS 6 and 7, you're going to be using Xorg. If this is not the case, you are beyond my skill level. So, with Xorg, you have to have a running Xorg session whose DISPLAY value…
