Move them from whatever folder they are stored in temporarily, that should remove them from the GUI

No, that is no longer a sync

(You're correct. It is SMBv1 which is not secure.)

Perfect, thanks for fast and detailed reply!

The issue is, it doesn't fail... There is no error and the sync doesn't stop and retry.. It just keeps looping mid-way... I have to kill the process via task manager for it to stop…

I perfectly understand the idea but you can imagine, that "suppose" is far not good enough to install the software on hundreds of company machines. So, as long we can not solve the…

No, the sync.db file tracks moveing and renaming for the location that it is stored in so you don't have to do a delete and copy for those operations. It just speeds things up. The…

In short, define a custom sync and you can decide what to do with conflicts

Might be. THX

It probably will

So it is, so far I have been running FFS as an adminsitartor. If I start the program as a user, everything works and I can access Z:. Thank you !!!

Hello, I am also hitting this error: [Code] The type of synchronization is mirror. The left directory is remote (sftp) and the OS is Solaris 11. The right directory is local and th…

Hello, I think I found what I wanted with the time span options. Thank you so much.

Thank you guys. Yes I think I will go the second path. Its mainly photos saved year-wise so I can easily split them between two sources. Also realized that since one of the source …

Thanks Plerry, That’s clarified a lot, especially with the links. Regards, Derek

> "With a one way sync it should be smart enough ... " This only applies to a an Update sync. Another type of one-way sync is a Mirror sync. And for a Mirror sync, FFS needs to sca…

Thanks bgstack15 for the hints! Before your edits, I tried the latest gcc 10 compiler (10.3) but it didn't change anything. I hit one other problem (related to zen/legacy_compiler.…

That's fine! You can also increase the number of machines allocated and shortening the donation period, then just switch it back after

Thank you Pierry for the prompt replies and helpful list of things to check. This set of folder pairs are between a laptop and cell phone. I reattached and restarted FFS to do anot…

Most likely an issue with an incomplete download, when the file size is not 20,142,821 bytes. Why is the download incomplete? Could be a number of reasons. For example a slow, unst…

Got it. Okay, I managed to do this via USB (MTP). Thanks!

Same issue here for Linux Mint 20.2 (Ubuntu 20.04 based). It worked well on Linux Mint 19 (Ubuntu 18.04 based). Downgrading FFS to 10.25 didn't solve the issue, so it seems to be a…

Hi Gianni1962. Yes I've just noticed that my self and thought I'd update this thread when I saw your reply. I've been staring at it to long. Thanks for your reply. Now sorted...

You would have had to keep the installer this whole time unfortunately.

Thank you for this information - had thought of something like that

No, you have to make separate RTS instances

No major differences or added features that I can tell between 10.15 and 10.24, other than bugfixes. I'm not sure about the donation versions as I've never used them. The free vers…

[Quote] FreeFileSync had Stripe-integrations for both of them for a while. Then both cancelled the cooperation. No reasons given, of course.

I found SyncBack Free. This could be more reliable. Besides, there are plenty of other alternatives.

I'm guessing that folder had a special character in it somehow, rather than a regular one

Read here! Hopefully this is what you need [URL]

You misunderstand what parallel threads does in FFS. There is most definitely a bottleneck in your chain, probably the nature of mechanical storage and file operation overhead [URL…

FFS does not have a way to sync based on file sizes, only compare

Well yeah, but I actually was referring to a built-in option for FFS Bottom right of the sync settings [Attachment]

[Quote] No Way , At which mechanism, you judging on both? What are the differences between FFS and (GoodSync& Gs Richcopy360) that make you very sure FFS is faster ?? I sure FFS sa…

Thanks so much! I found the page that describes versioning :)

Depends what you want to sync. You could share the location you want to sync over the network and be sure to create a user account on the sharing machine that you give access to th…

[Quote] Thanks for the tip. I will go that way. I will also look at other exclude option: older than x days.

both times..when i click compare and after I restart FFS.. even after a long time...

[Quote] That's already the current behavior. Maybe you're running an old FFS version. Or you're not really running a "sync" but doing a "compare" only. Just tested, and renamed fil…

The link does not work. I would like to test the version but of course it would be better if a fixed version is released soon that also includes all recent updates.

Remove all your antivirus software, anything more than Microsoft Security and using your brain is a waste of resources. Do a sfc/dism scan of Windows or just do a 'repair install'.

a different program can do this. beyond compare by scootersoftware. it allows you to collapse the directory structure and do a flat comparison of contents of subfolders. you can al…

Greetings! I'm a new user on the forums and I looking for some advice. While, I haven't downloaded the program yet I'm so happy it's open source. So, I did a search of the forums a…

Same here, it is happening just now, it was fine a few days ago. Starts with this message with one file: Cannot delete file "/Volumes/El ocho/CloudStation/PERSONAL PHOTO WORK/AAA R…

Probably muner0076 refers to the Export File List option available under FFS / Tools after running a Compare. This list exports as a *.csv file, but generally opens in Excel (if in…

So there is no specific FFS XML documentation. Okay - thanks for the clarification.
