Click the green cog and show us your sync settings, they are wrong. Get an image of the global settings and the three individual local settings

Brief Feedback from myself - for those who might come into a similar situation: Word Makes Autorecovery copies into c:\users\yourname\appdata\roaming\microsoft\word\ *.asd and part…

Ok, Thx!

I have now entered the shared folder from the notebook in the fstab and could now find it via "Select". Everything is going well for now. Greetings, Frank.

Note that FreeFileSync (FFS) is a synchronization software. Synchronization is about copying data, to make a destination essentially contain the same data as the source. Moving fil…

I can see why you dropped it. - The new versions are so much faster / nicer apart from all the other enhancements.

Thank you for your quick response, tippunmon. This pretty much confirms, that Mesa 21.1.4 fixes the issue. So if anybody else with this bug needs it fixed ASAP, can get it here: [U…

They are just files, they are located in the root folder of your source and destination

Simply write a script that executes the pre-sync actions and then launches FFS from that script ...

Yes, I guess it's incorrect to call it a FFS bug, but LTSC works the way it works and you can either choose to support it properly or not. I hadn't noticed the custom path options …

Exit code 2 is "Synchronization completed with errors". See here for all the FFS exit codes: [URL]

Indeed, the "Desktop" path does not exist for the SYSTEM account by default, and FFS probably also shouldn't try to create it. The following version implements a work around where …

That is definitely what happened, couldn't tell you what caused it without being there though. Some files may be missing because not everything supports being sent to Recycle Bin, …

No bugs, something is set up incorrectly. Check filters, check for any timespan options, screenshots of both locations and settings can be very helpful.

Yes, it is tied to your donation amount. It defaults to three devices, so if you donate 20 Euros, you get 1 year for those three installs. If you modify it on your donation page to…

Thanks ...

You can change the number of devices on the page where you download the Donation Edition. The question is if these "auto-scaling" servers are reused or if they look like a new devi…

Anything previously synced will not be checked. You will need to wipe the target and sync again to verify everything. I think that is what you mean. Remember, if a source file gets…

You need to create a link instead of a shortcut. [URL]

[Quote] Fixed with FreeFileSync 11.12. Thanks for the report.

Yeah, you would have to run a script that runs FFS then the completion script. It would be cool to see a toggle in the GUI. We would have to create code that returns the proper exi…

Feature Request: the existing tests such as "new and updated", or comparing against fixed sizes, are not equivalent. Unless ffs provides the ability to define our own callbacks for…

Thank you for the 7za solution, I'll try it out. The reason why I need it on Ubuntu/WSL is twofold: 1. syncing certain files between Ubuntu file system and Windows file system. In …

So let's test the new FreeFileSync M1 build! Chances are good, this will avoid the crashes. It seems Rosetta 2 is consuming heaps of memory that a native build could avoid. Please …

FFS does not change file names, nor does it change file extensions. (With the exception of when using some flavours of Versioning) FFS always copies files retaining their file-name…

Right. It worked.

Started from scratch today using ffs and they mapped fine. It was easier to open two finder windows and drag and drop instead of typing the UNC paths which I possibly typed incorre…

You could run a system log, something is likely interfering with the operation [URL]

Nice that you figured it out, weird though. I guess manually blasting a programs data isn't just a Windows thing!

It is based on file IDs, that is how FFS detects renames/moves. Both sides would only have to support it if you are using two-way sync. Unix filesystems don't support stable file I…

With file size comparison, FFS didn't detect any change if edited a single tag in music file (track rating). I'm now using FTP server and it's fast enough and syncing only changes …

I'm sure there is a batch script that could parse the log file and complete that, but it's easiest to just double check in the compare window before it syncs

Yes, when run as SYSTEM, it won't show the GUI which is what that checkbox controls. The two FFS entries is normal behavior from what I have seen

1 MegaBytes is equal to 8 megabits so your 4MB/s to Google Drive is actually 32 mb/s, not far off from what you pay for

That doesn't sound right, so must be a bug unless we can figure out something else. Can you attach a picture of the results of comparing with each method?

(I wouldn't know nearly enough to actually comment, so I just throw a link out there - that might or might not be of benefit: [URL].)

It works! Thank you!

update: the scan/sync completes after all. The scan phase takes about two hours interspersed with several pauses of about 10 minutes. The actual sync takes less than 10 minutes. I'…
