Let's try again with the following version. The FFS installer will be using $HOME, rather than "/home/<user name>". Hopefully this works for you: [URL]

Great! Usually I would recommend to right-click an item to exclude it, then there is no question on how you need to format it, but it's unlikely that you will run into something un…

I run mine 24/7 and will also get these at random times. It's usually from something else, like a bad shutdown, that kills FFS before it can even make a useful dmp file.

Yes, that was it. Need to select all or select specific files first. I was looking for a right click context menu to appear after the comparison. I used this feature, and really lo…

Dear xCSxXenon, Thanks for these clarifications. Not my case hopefully. Best, Samuel

That is completely different than Windows then, and I don't really believe that any program you use has that ability. You can't just move a file and expect a program to track that …

In simple terms, no you can't revert. Plerry is suggesting a proactive solution going forward, but there is no retroactive solution for your request.

Thanks for your explanation, makes sense in any case. However, according to my intuition, inaccessible paths would simply be skipped (with errors). I am aware that the manual shoul…

Oh, never mind. Apparently, upon install, you have to start and than quit the program before that file appears.

thanks! OK, I have a solution. Apparently it is because the computers were connected through sftp, and sftp doesn't handle symlinks too well. When I connect the computers with sshf…

Is the RealTimeSync icon grayed out all the time even after the external hard drive is connected? Are all monitored paths available when the external hard disk is connected? If so,…

Hi there, first, thank you for this wonderful Software and the active User-Forum! Tldr; I loose files by the end of the month using %Month-macro. My questions are: 1. Is there some…

[Quote] Ah doh! No wonder I couldn't find it. Thank you so much and sorry for the dumb question

That's may be the issue, it possibly changed the metadata. You should reformat the new drive and use FFS or something else to copy from old to new.

Disabling Fail-safe file copy didn't solve the issue and I still got an error message: Cannot copy file "\\192.168.10.199\Workroom\Backup\Outlook\TomerDor.pst" to "C:\TomerDor\Outl…

Nothing special, CPU around 90% on 8 core (it means around 10%) and 10GB of RAM free, seems that the MAC is not doing that great job. The drive was not case-sensitive, I have refor…

There is really no good way of doing this while allowing the source/destination to be changed/swapped. Zenju would have to include new internal macros for source and dsetination.

You can run the donation portable edition in a Windows PE. There are tons of Windows PEs to choose from. Personally, we like BobOmbs but have used Gandalfs in the past as well.

Glad you got it figured out fairly easily!

How big were these 15,578 files? If the total size is anything larger than the Recycle Bin allocation, some of your data can't be restored. You would need data recovery.

What does Task manager say about network and drive usage during this? How many files are you working with?

This isn't a problem with deletion, it is a problem with "fail-safe file copy". FFS copies the file with a .ffs_tmp extension and then renames it to the real name once the copy is …

perfect - thank you for your answer Obviously I was to stupid to read

Hi, I am trying to sync folders between an external hard drive (connected to the laptop with a USB 3.0) with an external SD card inside my mobile phone TECNO CAMON 16 Premier [Andr…

Thank you, but I'm not using RealSync. Also, it looks like I would have to set something up to get the additional log file to the user that wants to check it

Hello, i solve the issue. To complete my first message the error code is attached with the following : "impossible to move "D:\Documents\user\...\RecycleBin~xxfc.ffs_tmp" in the fo…

I'm thinking (guessing) it may have to do with the trailing dot in the directory name? mkdir will create "Você S.A" rather then "Você S.A.".

Yes I do. After I slightly resized the window everything is fine again. [URL]

Thanks so much for this, it's a big help. Makes more sense now... :-) [Quote]

I tried your suggestion and traced the problem to two file types, .mds & .mdf. If either of these two file types are in any folder that I'm synchronizing, it will fail. As a tempor…

I found out myself: the bic + sign ;-)

Hello there. I presume this is false positive, but maybe someone can comment on this: The FFS 11.6 MacOS Download is being flagged by Bkav Pro as VEX.Webshell when the unpacked .pk…

Thank you for explaining this, and providing a successful solution, very much appreciated.

[Quote] Nope, I put it down after that post and never tried again.

No problem, here to help!

Two donations with the same email are merged into the same license. What error do you get when attempting to install?

Thanks. I don't know how I missed that. I've gone over the tips 3 or 4 times and just missed it. Thanks again.

[Quote] It looks like FFS does not automatically detect proxy software, even if it is a system proxy. The problem was solved by using proxifier.

[URL] It is all in FFS, nothing in Task Scheduler.

Mapped drive letters don't carry over to the SYSTEM accout, which is what Task Scheduler uses when running with highest privileges.

Thanks very much for your quick reply. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Fixed. The name of the file (not the full path) was over 256 characters, which is not allowed in ZFS filesystems. After renaming it worked.

Grazie

[Quote] Yes, it's fine for one-way sync, but I like using bidirectional sync with delete propagation, and seems FreeFileSync is the best option for that. As for now, if i run it in…

Interesting, report back if the issue arises again!

I am using MacOS and mounted a folder from a nextcloud instance to /Volumes/username/folder. Via finder I have full read and write access to the remote folder and can copy files fr…

I checked again and funny enough, the file is gone... I swear I had tried to restart the PC and it was still there. But oh well, right now it's gone so the problem is currently sol…

I found a solution for my Mac Minis M1 with 10Gbps adapter! After reading several articles and forums I tested SAMBA 2 instead SAMBA 3, and it worked. They don't crash anymore and …
